Site Supervisor HWRC
**PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ROLE WILL BE BASED AT FLEETWOOD HOUSEHOLD WASTE RECYCLING CENTRE (HWRC)**
Hours: 40 hours ( THU/FRI/SAT/SUN/MON ) This includes 3hrs conditional overtime and 16hrs of weekend working at our contractual overtime and weekend working rate of Time + 33%.
Qualifications: The post holder will have relevant certificates of competence or equivalent, for example Certificate of Technical Competence (COTC) Level 4/Occupational Certificate of Competence (OCC), First Aid at Work or must be able to demonstrate the ability to achieve competence within a reasonable timescale.

What does the role involve?
1. You will report directly to the Assistant Operations Manager but will also receive day to day direction and instruction from the Operations Supervisor(s).
2. You will have direct supervision of operatives on the HWRC, monitoring the delivery of their duties and ensuring that these are carried out effectively and efficiently.
3. You will be expected to make decisions as to how and when specific staff duties are carried out and respond to situations independently.
4. You will ensure the implementation of pre-determined working systems and procedures so that our HWRCs are operated safely, compliantly and to specified standards, which includes the implementation of council policies.
5. You will ensure the HWRCs are compliant with quality, environmental and health and safety standards.
6. You will be responsible for the recording of all required information ensuring that the information recorded is sufficiently detailed and accurate.
7. You will be responsible for reporting any issues that arise in the day to day operation of the site including, but not limited to, staffing issues, hazard reporting, near misses, defects and maintenance issues.
8. You actively involved in the delivery of operations on the HWRC and the routinely performing the general duties of the HWRC Operative.
9. Committed to the recycling and re-use of waste you will actively ensure that the amount of waste separated for recycling and re-use is maximised by separating/retrieving re-useable or recyclable waste and encouraging customers to separate their waste and use the correct containers.
10. You will have direct engagement with customers including managing difficult situations or customers but always ensuring that excellent levels of customer service are maintained.
Your duties will also include the following:
11. Carefully using specialist equipment such as excavators and assisting with the training of others in the use of the specialist equipment.
12. Liaison with contractors to ensure compliance with site rules and standards.
13. Assisting in the running of re-use shops and other re-use activities.
14. Pre-planning tasks and duties to ensure the consistent delivery of operations in advance of absences.
15. Training all HWRC operatives to ensure standards are maintained and reporting and recording systems are delivered in their absence.
