About the Role:
A growing and specialist construction business is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join its Coventry-based team. The successful candidate will support the delivery of energy-efficient refurbishment works within the social housing sector, working closely with local authorities, housing associations, and the wider commercial team.
This role is integral to ensuring cost-effective management across multiple refurbishment projects, with funding secured until at least 2028.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct cost estimation by reviewing architectural plans and assessing quantity requirements.
Prepare contracts, tender documentation, and procurement schedules.
Monitor budgets and manage variations throughout project delivery.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to offer expert cost-related guidance.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Assist with cost analysis, risk management, and procurement planning.
Monitor and report on project progress, valuations, and final accounts.
Support negotiations with subcontractors and agreement of variations.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and project reports.
Experience & Qualifications:
A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering, or a related field (preferred, but not essential).
Minimum 2 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the social housing sector.
Strong understanding of construction cost management, contracts, and procurement processes.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and financial management skills.
Highly organised and detail-focused.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other industry-standard tools.
