1:1 Teaching Assistant - Full Time - Secondary School in Accrington

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 8 student with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) at a secondary school in Accrington. The role will involve working closely with the student to support their learning, emotional wellbeing, and overall development, ensuring they are fully included in lessons and school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to the student in the classroom, ensuring they can access and engage with the curriculum.
Implement strategies outlined in the student's EHCP to support their learning and personal development.
Assist with any additional needs the student may have, including social or emotional support.
Liaise with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the student's progress and needs are regularly reviewed.
Encourage and foster positive relationships with the student, helping to build their confidence and independence.
Support the student's participation in class activities and help them stay focused during lessons.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) and a good understanding of EHCPs.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.
Experience working in a secondary school setting is desirable.
A calm, positive, and approachable attitude to support the student's learning and wellbeing.

An enhanced Child Only DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
A strong background in supporting students with SEN, particularly those with EHCPs.
