Rate of Pay: £12.85 - £16.97 per hour
Summary:
The Cleansing Operative will carry out street cleansing operations across Somerset to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and visitors. The role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, undertaking a range of cleansing duties with minimal disruption to customers while ensuring high standards of health, safety, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out street cleansing operations across Somerset.
* Undertake litter picking, hand sweeping, bin emptying, fly-tip removal, and public toilet cleaning.
* Support the delivery of a clean and safe public environment.
* Drive non-LGV vehicles and operate machinery as required.
* Complete daily vehicle and equipment checks and report any defects.
* Carry out basic vehicle and equipment maintenance, including checking fluid levels, tyre pressures, bulbs, and cleanliness.
Essentials:
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Self-motivated with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality services.
* Good understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and undertake physically demanding duties.
