Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. As a Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring that food preparation and production meet our high standards of quality and safety. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
A minimum 2 years experience is an essential for all applicants.
Duties
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients and dishes according to established recipes and standards
* Support senior chefs in cooking and food production tasks
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workspace
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
* Participate in inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations
* Assist in training new kitchen staff as required
* Contribute to menu planning and development by providing feedback on dishes
Requirements
* Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is preferred
* Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment, demonstrating leadership qualities when necessary
* Experience in food preparation, cooking, and food production processes
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
