Our client, a global leader in aerospace technology, is seeking a Sr. Manager - Systems Engineering (SatCOMM) to join their dynamic UK team. This permanent position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to lead in the rapidly evolving space economy.
Responsibilities:
Providing communications systems engineering inputs on cost and planning for bids and proposals
Ensuring programmes are appropriately resourced with communications systems engineers
Mentoring, coaching, and developing systems engineers
Conducting performance reviews and managing recruitment
Owning the communications systems engineering process
Leading project technical reviews and offering systems engineering technical leadership as required
Serving as a technical interface to customers and subcontractors
Developing innovative solutions to engineering requirements and analysing performance
Ensuring the delivery of verified flight equipment compliant with customer requirements
Job Requirements:
Experience in SATCOM, Radio Frequency, ASIC, Software Engineering, and Systems Architecture
Significant team management experience (15-30 people)
Extensive systems engineering experience in satellite or telecommunications industry
Good understanding of technologies for radio frequency telecommunications, including software, electronics, ASICs, and FPGA
Desirable Skills:
Experience in the design for space
Strong background in satellite telecommunications, particularly payloads
Experience with ECSS standards and space industry protocols
Experience in military satellite communications systems and commercial LEO communication systems
Knowledge of satellite on-board digital signal processing and phased array antenna design
Ability to define technology roadmaps and experience in optics, lasers, and associated equipment
