We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Duty Manager to join our Extra Care team in Lytham St Anne's. As a Duty Manager - Extra Care, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and effective running of our care services. You will lead and support your team to deliver high-quality care that meets regulatory standards and promotes the well-being and independence of our residents. This is a rewarding part-time, permanent position ideal for someone passionate about making a real difference in people's lives.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Extra Care service, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
* Support and supervise care staff, providing guidance, coaching, and encouragement to maintain high standards of care and professionalism.
* Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all residents and staff by maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
* Coordinate care plans and liaise with healthcare professionals, residents, and families to ensure personalised and effective care delivery.
* Manage staffing rotas, monitor attendance, and address any performance or conduct issues promptly and fairly.
* Respond to and resolve any incidents or emergencies efficiently and compassionately.
* Maintain accurate records and reports, including incident logs, care documentation, and regulatory compliance paperwork.
* Promote a positive and inclusive culture that empowers residents and staff alike.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within Health, Nursing or Social Care, ideally in an Extra Care or similar setting.
* Relevant qualifications such as Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or equivalent are preferred.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, safeguarding procedures, and care quality standards (CQC).
* Excellent communication, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
* Ability to lead by example, motivate a team, and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
* Compassionate, patient‑centred approach with a genuine commitment to improving the quality of life for service users.
* Flexibility to work part-time hours that may include some evenings and weekends.
