With a track record of delivering successful projects, we continue to deliver cutting edge solutions to exceed our client’s needs due to some recent significant contract wins we are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dedicated team at our Dundee Office. The Role In this role you will work closely with the Commercial Manager where you will be responsible for commercial control and best practice for Emtec Building Services in Dundee. Your collaboration with regional directors will play a crucial role in achieving our targets. Role Responsibilities Assisting with formulating and executing the commercial strategy in line with the business's needs. Maintaining accurate financial control systems and report on cost/value reconciliation. Providing expert contractual advice, reviewing, and negotiating terms and conditions Handling applications for payment and leading negotiations for final accounts Ensuring comprehensive management of all contractual aspects within projects, covering payments, variations, notices, extensions of time, loss, and expense claims and more Assessing variations and supporting the team in capturing potential opportunities Overseeing subcontractor management, including drafting subcontracts, negotiating terms and conditions, managing payment processes, and valuating variations Conducting monthly cost and value reporting, participating in review meetings, and projecting revenue, gross profit, overhead, and net profit Implementing efficient cash management practices to optimise financial performance. Identifying and reporting on commercial risks and opportunities associated with projects. What we are looking for We would love to speak to Senior Quantity Surveyor and experienced Quantity Surveyors with a keen interest in construction. We are seeking a talented individual with a passion for construction and a sharp set of skills, who is enthusiastic and meticulous with a real eye for detail. Strong numeric, communication and IT skills with an excellent grasp of all Microsoft office applications Previous experience in construction (building services experience advantageous) Have degree/honours degree in Quantity Surveying or similar (preferable but not essential) Be confident and reliable and able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
