We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Burial Ground Consultant. The shifts will be variable between 06:00 and 20:00, Monday to Saturday. The role includes gate opening on Saturdays, Sundays, and Bank Holidays when required. As an integral part of the team, you will support the day-to-day operation of the Burial Ground and provide outstanding service to families. Your responsibilities include:
1. Managing, supporting, and processing all enquiries from the public and clients, ensuring accurate arrangements for burials.
2. Managing the diary and administration systems to ensure smooth operations.
3. Promoting, advising, and selling memorialisation options and value-added services.
4. Liaising with funeral directors, clergy, the bereaved, and the public to deliver high standards of service.
5. Completing all necessary documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements, liaising with external agencies as needed.
6. Handling the identification, storage, and disposal of cremated remains responsibly and documenting these processes.
7. Receiving payments and managing financial documentation.
8. Ensuring the security of petty cash, premises, and equipment.
9. Performing any other duties necessary for the operation of the Burial Ground.
10. Actively participating in community activities to promote the Burial Ground and end-of-life services.
Essential skills and qualifications include:
* IT literacy and proficiency in MS Office.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Customer-facing experience.
* Strong administration and organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Resilience and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* High levels of empathy and compassion.
Training will be provided, and previous experience in the funeral industry is not required. Travel to other sites may be necessary.
