North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital-based services to the population of Hartlepool, Stockton on Tees and parts of East Durham and Sedgefield as well as community, therapeutic and screening to a wider population across Durham and Teesside. Job overview Advert may close early due to volume of applications. The Urgent Treatment centre team adopts a holistic approach to care and quality improvement. Our ideal candidate will have acute care experience and bring with them ideas to help us develop our centres. We have 4 UTC's Tees Wide North Tees, Hartlepool, James Cook and Redcar. This post is for NT and Hartlepool but there may be times in escalation for you to work cross site. Main duties of the job To provide support to the multi professional team, by undertaking appropriate duties following assessment and planning of requirements by the registered nurse. Additionally, to provide support by undertaking non nursing and ancillary duties, wound care, plaster casting, ECGs, Observations, BM's. Supporting practitioner when required. We recruit for values and "Together we are North Tees & Hartlepool" Detailed job description and main responsibilities Maintains effective communication and good relationships with children, parents, carers, relatives and staff. Accept delegated duties within parameters of capabilities and competencies. Complete documentation in accordance with Trust policy Participate in programmes of in-service training as required Chaperoning of patients if required Maintain a standard of conduct and dress to sustain public confidence and promote the profile of health care employees. Contribute to the prevention and management of untoward occurrences by responding to emergencies, summoning appropriate assistance, reassurance until qualified staff available, maintenance of privacy/dignity/confidentiality, maintenance of a safe working environment. Clerical duties associated with the efficient management of the paediatric service including answering the telephone and relaying messages. Checking and maintaining stock levels. General house keeping duties Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Level 3 in appropriate subject (or on pathway) or equivalent qualification/experience literacy and numeracy skills level 2 or grade 4 or above in English and maths Desirable criteria Working within an acute setting NVQ level 2 childcare A level Health and social care Experience Essential criteria Recent relevant experience in acute care Knowledge Essential criteria Ability to assess, plan deliver and evaluate quality care Ability to meet basic care needs Ability to escalate clinical concerns appropriately Please be aware: Once sufficient applications have been received this vacancy may close early. Disclosure and Barring Checks (DBS) It is the policy of North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, that all successful candidates who are new to the Trust who require DBS clearance for the post they have been offered, are required to pay the cost for their DBS certificate. The method of payment for this is via salary deduction from your first month's pay on commencement with the Trust. The DBs check will be undertaken during the pre-employment check screening. Qualifications Please note the essential qualifications required for the post are outlined within the Person Specification. You are required to provide original evidence of the necessary qualifications for the post at interview should you be shortlisted. You will also be required to provide original copies as part of the pre-employment check screening. New Starters - Probationary Period For any new employees commencing employment with North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, you will be subject to satisfactory completion of a 6 month probationary period. Please note that internal applications and individuals that are appointed to fixed term appointments of less than 6 months duration are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or a bank member of staff). Working Hours If the hours advertised for the post are up to full time (37.5 hours per week), applications are still welcomed from individuals who may be seeking to work less than full-time hours and all requests will be considered in line with the post being appointed to for the successful applicant.
