Your new companyWe are seeking an experienced Carpenter / Joiner to join a responsive maintenance team working for a well-established social housing provider. This temporary contract involves carrying out day-to-day repairs in occupied properties, ensuring work is completed safely, professionally, and to a high standard.The successful candidate must be a joiner by trade, with the ability to undertake a range of associated maintenance tasks as required.Your new role
* Carry out responsive repairs and maintenance in occupied social housing properties.
* Complete all aspects of carpentry and joinery, including:
o Internal and external door repairs
o Lock changes and ironmongery
o Skirting, architraves, and framework
o Kitchen unit repairs and adjustments
* Undertake additional multi-trade tasks such as:
o Patch plastering
o Basic plumbing
o Minor tiling
o Making good after works
* Work professionally and respectfully in occupied homes, maintaining excellent customer service.
* Ensure all work meets required quality, safety, and compliance standards.
* Use PDA or job sheets to record work completed and materials used.
* Travel between properties across North Leicestershire, South Derbyshire, and South Nottinghamshire.
What you'll need to succeed
* Qualified Joiner / Carpenter (NVQ, City & Guilds or time-served).
* Strong experience in responsive maintenance within occupied properties.
* Ability to carry out additional multi-trade tasks confidently.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Own tools and transport.
* Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
* Strong awareness of health & safety and safe working practices.
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
