Sen Teaching Assistant
Milk Education is recruiting caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support a range of SEN schools and provisions across Stoke-on-Trent, working on a long-term or short-term basis, starting immediately.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with a variety of additional needs, including autism, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties. You’ll play a key role in helping pupils thrive in supportive, inclusive, and nurturing school environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation throughout the school day.
• Assist teachers in adapting lessons and activities to meet individual learning needs and EHCP targets.
• Promote positive behaviour strategies, structure, and routine to support pupil engagement.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and personal development in line with each pupil’s abilities.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
• Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based or transferable experience).
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach when supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive school team.
• A proactive attitude and genuine passion for supporting pupils with SEN.
