Overview

A driver with a full UK manual licence is required for this role!

About the role: This service is home to 5 gentlemen, ages range from 21 to 65. There are a variety of support needs including PEG, Epilepsy, wheelchair and hoist use as well as personal care.

Successful applicants will receive a full training package and the opportunity to undertake apprenticeships or gain further qualifications. The gentlemen here enjoy a range of activities including golf, bowling, aromatherapy, theatre trips, pantos, pub lunches, cinema, walking, gardening, shopping.

The focus of this role is to help the people we support to develop independent living skills: improve their personal hygiene, assist with meal preparation, exercise, leisure activities and socialising – the daily routine of regular life. You’ll get huge job satisfaction from seeing the people you are supporting do more for themselves and live the life they want to live. If you’re interested in building a career, we’re here to support you all the way on your own journey.

About you

* We’re not looking for any kind of specific experience. It is your personality and values that will make you a good fit for the role and our organisation. We will train and develop you to become a great support worker if you:
* have genuine empathy for the people we support, with the positivity, patience, and resilience to support them through difficult times.
* enjoy teamwork and take pride in getting a job done well alongside your colleagues.
* have excellent face to face communication skills and a good standard of literacy.
* have good time management skills and the ability to prioritise your own workload.
* We recognise that good support workers come from all walks of life.
* Whether you have years of experience or none at all, if you are a caring person, passionate about empowering others and ready to learn new skills we want to speak to you!


Details

* Hours: 39 hours per week.
* Location: This service is situated in Chatham. A short drive from junction 3 of the M2. It has easy access via a main bus route and also has free off street parking.
