About the role: Project management. Team management. Stakeholder management. These are three core areas of your role as a Product Development Manager. Get these right and you’ll be able to successfully ensure our teams run smoothly, providing business continuity and supporting critical business events. And as part of the department leadership team, you’ll also contribute strategic insights and operational improvements that boost team success – plus morale, profile and reputation. As part of the department leadership team, ServiceNow PDMs are expected to contribute significantly to the overall success of the team through strategic insights and operational improvements. We are looking for someone with a strong background in ServiceNow, stakeholder management and negotiations. Another large part of the role is responding to the business demands for greater analytical and reporting capabilities within the platform as well as specific departmental data solutions so a need for excellent project management credentials gained in a technical environment is fundamental. You’ll identify and validate business requirements as well as strategic business drivers whilst overseeing budgets, estimating and billing for all project resources used. You’ll provide timely and effective communication on progress or issues and will agree appropriate design standards, methods and tools to ensure they are applied. Ensuring quality and governance processes are followed is also part of this role enabling Next standards to be met whilst actively managing all risks, issues and key decisions within the projects. Please note that this is a 10 month FTC on a full time basis with hybrid working each week from our Leicestershire Head Office. What your day-to-day will look like You will manage a portfolio of application development projects from start to finish within agreed budget and timings. You will also be responsible for managing a development team to ensure the most efficient resources are used and that business interests are managed and satisfied. You will oversee all aspects of project delivery in a highly collaborative and agile framework, providing on-going communication to ensure that progress is transparent and aligned to the quality and standards expected by the business, user and IT governance. This role demands strong leadership skills and technical ability aligned with excellent management and communication. You will lead, coach and develop a team of Developers to consistently deliver the highest standards of service required by the business. You’ll oversee accounting, estimating and billing for all project resources used and will provide timely and effective communication on progress or issues. You’ll agree to appropriate design standards, methods and tools and ensure they are applied whilst actively managing all risks, issues and key decisions within the projects. You’ll be doing all this from our Leicestershire Head Office. Proven project management skills gained in a technical environment. Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills. Demonstrable experience in team management and leadership. Experience in overseeing project financials. In addition, we’re looking for you to be: Able to speak, read and write English at a level that enables you to complete your role, for example, to understand instructions and communicate effectively with stakeholders and/or other team members Experienced in effectively working in a collaborative manner in a large scale, fast paced environment within a multifunctional technical team You’ll be doing all this from our Head Office in Leicestershire.
