Responsibilities

* The HSE Advisor key responsibility is to play a pivotal part within the site integrated Health & Safety team, whilst championing the HPC way! Ensuring the Health & Standards of the HPC project are consistently met.
* Providing competent advice across a multi-functional disciplined project.
* Adhere to all NNB and Altrad policies and procedures in daily duties.
* Monitor health, safety, environmental, and welfare practices across project teams and contractors.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with Tier 1 contractors and the Principal Contractor.
* Conduct regular HSE inspections and promptly report trends to relevant discipline managers.
* Provide competent, specialist HSE advice to project management and leadership teams.
* Ensure duty of care responsibilities are met following any incident.
* Split working time between site and office environments.
* Perform inspections and observations of site and subcontractor activities each shift, recording findings in Insight.
* Intervene when unsafe practices are observed and propose corrective solutions.
* Support training initiatives and assist with accident and incident investigations.
* Gain a thorough understanding of site procedures and monitor field compliance.
* Assist with all project HSE functions as required.
* Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to take on additional duties appropriate to the role.


Experience and Qualifications

* NEBOSH general certificate / NEBOSH construction certificate or equivalent.
* Background in COSHH and DSEAR regulations
* IOSH membership or equivalent professional accreditation
* Site-based experience in a similar role, ideally within the nuclear industry
* Understanding of nuclear site licence conditions and health & safety regulations
* Auditing experience or relevant qualification
* Strong investigative skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* IT literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Willingness to undertake relevant training, including Level 3 Award in Education and trade-specific certifications
