Channel Category Manager – OOH, Digital Commerce & Value Channels

Main Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to grow the Ice Cream category across OOH, Digital Commerce, Rapid Delivery and Value channels, ensuring a healthy and sustainable category that unlocks mutual growth with customers and channel partners.
You will act as the voice of the shopper and customer, delivering best‑in‑class insights, shaping channel strategies, and making range and merchandising recommendations to customers. This role offers the opportunity to influence senior stakeholders and develop leadership capability, working closely with cross‑functional teams internally as well as developing customer relationships externally. You will have direct line management responsibility, leading the coaching, development and performance of a Category Executive.
Key Responsibilities
* Build Channel Strategies & Unlock Growth
* Develop channel strategies for OOH, Digital Commerce and Value channels.
* Leverage insights and category value drivers to shape differentiated strategies by channel and format, ensuring they reflect shopper needs, consumption missions and future trends.
* Prioritise which customers and platforms to partner with, based on opportunity assessment and strategic fit.
* Create playbooks for how to activate Ice Cream across each channel to maximise sales, visibility and profitability.
* Grow the Ice Cream Category Across Channels
* Provide category leadership to customers and internal teams, identifying opportunities to grow total category penetration, distribution and relevance.
* Using consumer and shopper insights across channels to guide recommendations on range and merchandising.
* Identify white‑space opportunities, new formats and evolving consumption occasions unique to each channel.
* Win in Range Reviews & Drive Optimal Assortment
* Provide data‑driven range, space and distribution recommendations tailored to each channel/customer.
* Create compelling category narratives and merchandising solutions to deliver a best‑in‑class shopper experience.
* Partner with Sales and Brand teams so they can influence in customer conversations beyond direct category touchpoints.
* Be the Voice of the Shopper & Customer Internally
* Work closely with CMI, data partners and Global teams to ensure the business has the best market and shopper insights.
* Bring shopper and customer insight into business strategies, innovation launches and joint business planning.
Essential – Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
* Category management experience, ideally within FMCG.
* Strong analytical capability and experience generating compelling insights from multiple data sources.
* Building great customer relationships.
* Strategy creation and implementation, ideally across diverse channel models.
* Strong influencing skills, including working with senior stakeholders and teams.
Desirable
* Knowledge of OOH ecosystems including leisure, QSRs, and aggregator platforms.
* Use of planogram software.
* People management experience.
Reporting Line: This role reports into the Ice Cream Category Controller.
