Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the tax team to ensure high-quality service delivery
Manage team performance against KPIs such as revenue, retention and productivity
Promote a results-driven culture focused on continuous improvement and client value
Ensure timely, compliant submission of tax returns and related documentation
Enhance internal workflows to improve efficiency and service standards
Collaborate with other departments to support broader business initiatives
Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, provide coaching and support professional development
Use performance data and insights to inform strategic decisions
Stay informed on tax regulations and maintain team-wide compliance
Contribute to wider business projects such as pricing, reporting and client retention strategies
Skills, Experience & Training Requirements
Essential:
2+ years’ experience in a team leadership role within tax or accountancy
Strong understanding of UK tax legislation and compliance standards
Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams
Commercially minded, with experience working towards sales and service KPIs
Comfortable working in fast-paced, client-focused settings
Excellent time management, organisational and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Proficient in practice or workflow management softwareDesirable:
Relevant professional qualification (e.g. ATT, AAT, CTA)
Experience supporting self-employed or SME clients
Background in cross-functional collaboration or project work
