Job Title: School Behaviour Support Assistant - Dagenham

Salary: £90 - £105 per day

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate school behaviour support assistant to join one of our thriving secondary schools in Dagenham. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils across KS3 and KS4 within a mainstream secondary setting who may present with challenging behaviour.
As a school behaviour support assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils manage their emotions, develop positive social skills, and re-engage with learning. You will work closely with teaching and pastoral teams to create a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages progress and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with challenging behaviour.
* Implement behaviour management and de-escalation strategies effectively.
* Build strong relationships with pupils to promote engagement and self-confidence.
* Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to maintain a calm, structured classroom.
* Monitor and report on pupil progress and behaviour.
Requirements
* Experience in youth work, supporting pupils with challenging behaviour, or working within a pupil referral unit (PRU).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, resilience, and a calm approach under pressure.
* Commitment to supporting the development of young people in Dagenham.
