Business Development Manager (Solid Phase Joining Process)
Location: Home based - UK territory
Duties:
The purpose of this role is to drive sales & revenue growth for the company’s friction welding machines and subcontract manufacturing services. This involves working with existing client accounts and proactively developing new customers.
* Identify end-user manufacturing customers and promote value streams including innovative material joining technology solutions, new machines (CapEx), and subcontract manufacturing services.
* Maintain client relationships through meetings, trade shows/exhibitions, and R&D initiatives across sectors like automotive, EV, marine, aerospace, defense, space, nuclear, energy, and other technologically led manufacturing sectors. Additional markets include educational, research, and industry catapult sectors.
* Translate customer technical requirements into engineering solutions.
* Generate quotations and technical proposals to meet client needs.
* Meet and exceed sales and revenue targets with support from the internal sales team and technical product specialists.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a driven personality and a willingness to understand the technical aspects of metal material joining products and machinery. Proven success in selling high-value, technology-led products or services within the advanced manufacturing sector is essential.
* Successful sales experience in winning new business and growing existing client accounts within industrial machinery or subcontract manufacturing.
* Experience managing projects or technical innovation related to solid phase joining production processes.
* Commercial acumen regarding project costs, contracts, margins, and sales pricing.
* Qualifications at HNC/Degree level in engineering or relevant experience.
* Positive attitude and proactive approach to taking ownership of the territory and growing market share.
