Core Responsibilities
* Curriculum Excellence: Planning and delivering engaging Music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The ability to teach A-Level Music or BTEC Level 3 Music Technology is highly desirable.
* Performance & Composition: Guiding students through the creative process, from mastering an instrument to using DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) like Logic Pro, Ableton, or Sibelius for original composition.
* GCSE & Vocational Success: Preparing students for the rigours of external assessments, focusing on the three pillars of music education: Performing, Composing, and Appraising (Listening).
* Extracurricular Vitality: Leading the school’s musical life outside the classroom—coordinating choirs, orchestras, rock bands, and jazz ensembles, and preparing students for seasonal concerts and local competitions.
* Instrumental Coordination: Working closely with peripatetic (visiting) music teachers to ensure a seamless link between individual instrumental lessons and the classroom curriculum.
* Pastoral Leadership: Serving as a dedicated Form Tutor, providing a supportive environment and acting as a consistent point of professional contact for students and their families.
