Procurement Category Manager (Indirect Procurement for CAPEX & Operations) required for my client, a leading FMCG business with market leading brands.
As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for managing a high-complexity spend area, creating robust spend category strategies, and actively partnering with key stakeholders. This is a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities of the Category Manager:
* Have significant experience in Utilities procurement or other similarly data-driven procurement categories.
* Possess experience in FMCG or similar operational procurement, with a clear understanding of requirements to support the business, cost drivers, and the ability to challenge specifications and operational methods to drive value.
* Create and implement category strategies for key spend areas aligned with Business Units and Group Service functions.
* Ensure procurement policy, processes, and spend compliance rules are in place.
* Support new product launches within Business Units, involving strategic projects.
* Create and present recommendations to business units.
* Present key insights and updates to stakeholders, including data analysis and market insights, to facilitate effective planning and decision-making.
* Implement a supplier relationship strategy to meet KPIs and develop sustainable value-added potential.
* Drive action within project teams and deliver sourcing events within defined and challenging timelines.
Key Skills and Experience of the Category Manager:
* Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement.
* Specialist knowledge and experience in energy, utilities, chemicals, waste management, and packaging/recycling categories are desirable.
* Ability to translate strategies and decisions into actionable outcomes.
* Strong communication skills at all organizational levels.
* Excellent data interpretation and analysis skills.
* Ability to participate in and lead project teams as required.
* Advanced project management skills are desirable.
