The Role
To drive the service delivery and manage the structured finance solutions across a portfolio of large ABL Clients, ensuring excellent client outcomes are delivered whilst protecting the company from risk of credit loss. The Portfolio under management will include bilateral facilities of £30m and upwards across various asset classes including accounts receivable, cash flow loans, property, P&M and Inventory. The role will also include management of syndicated transactions following our recent entry into this market offering the individual an opportunity to have in influential role supporting the continued enhancements in our governances, controls and procedures.
Responsibilities
o Manage and control a portfolio of approx. 7 to 10 ABL clients, including lead and participation syndicated facilities
o Responsible for the risk and relationship management of the client portfolio to include protection against credit loss and ownership of client relationships to maximise the client life and profitable retention
o For syndicated clients, manage relationships with syndicate of lenders, including oversight of the settlement process, compliance with terms and operational conditions under the syndication agreements.
o Minimise the risk of loss through robust credit risk management, using risk management tools and implementation of risk management procedures.
o Drive profitability, service levels and retention of client relationships
o Analysis of financial statements and forecasts plus preparation of financial models to ensure prompt identification of liquidity issues, potential covenant breaches along with escalation to Group Credit Committee where appropriate
o Analysis of collateral information, system data and field exams to ensure accurate collateral reporting and prompt identification of issues that may lead to risk of loss, operational or financial covenant breaches along with execution of corrective actions
o Negotiation, structuring and execution of in life changes (including renewals, restructures and waivers) for clients, preparation and presentation of credit applications for client review and facility amendments. Including presenting to Group Credit Committee and up to the Group Chief Risk Officer where necessary.
o Responsibility for maximizing portfolio income generation in line with any targets. Including seeking opportunities to cross sell and refer other products and services
o Maintenance of Client legal documentation, including facility amendments.
o Co-ordination with Business Development, Underwriting and Legal teams to ensure timely take on of new business prospects into clients within agreed terms
o Provide a business underwriting resource as required.
o Manage and engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders
o Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.
Standards of performance
o Maintain bad debt provisions to within annual budget.
o Ongoing management of collateral performance and reporting.
o Ensure risk reducing actions are prioritised and completed, and risk issues are promptly reported to line / senior management.
o Respond to client field exams, valuations and appraisal promptly and act on recommendations.
o Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients.
o Source new business referrals fromexisting clients.
o Ensure client relationships are profitable
o Complete annual reviews and client visits as per targeted requirements.
o Document issues discussed and agreed at client visits
o Ensure clients operate within contracted terms and conditions.
o Alter terms and conditions as required, and ensure changes are properly documented.
o Additional income generation as per annual budget.

Relevant Experience
Essential
o Industry specific experience
o Syndication experience and a comprehensive knowledge of ABL.
o Deal structuring across ABL facilities
o Management of MBO/MBIs, mergers and acquisitions and other time critical transactions
o Experience of sponsor backed groups.

o Underwriting experience is desirable but not essential
