Description Summary and purpose of position: Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee all shift operations, leading a team of Shift Managers across day and night shifts. You’ll optimise labour and equipment use, drive operational performance, and ensure exceptional customer service. Key to the role is promoting a culture of continuous improvement, safety, inclusion, and wellbeing, while coaching and developing your team to reach their full potential. Duties and responsibilities: Operational Leadership: Support the General Manager and lead warehouse operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and performance against KPIs and budget targets. Team Development & Engagement: Motivate, coach, and develop the team through training, appraisals, and strong leadership to foster high employee engagement and personal growth. Communication & Culture: Maintain clear, consistent communication across all levels, promoting company and customer values, initiatives, and a culture of continuous improvement. Health & Safety Compliance: Champion a proactive health and safety culture, ensuring all procedures are followed and standards are met across the operation. Performance & Cost Management: Monitor and improve operational standards, identify cost-saving opportunities, and challenge existing processes to drive efficiency and innovation. Experience, Skills, and Attributes: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all levels. Proven experience managing large teams in high-volume logistics and customer-focused environments. Skilled in coaching, motivating, and developing teams to drive performance and engagement. Sound understanding of Health & Safety, employee wellbeing, and inclusive workplace practices. Ability to work independently under pressure, with flexibility to support a 24/7 operation. Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
