Middleware Migration Engineer - IBM WAS to Linux - Contract - Outside IR35 - 6 months - Hybrid - Berkshire 2 days a week
TrinIT Talent are looking for a Middleware Migration Specialist to come on board for a 6 month initial contract based in Berkshire 2 days a week and 3 days remote. This role falls Out of Scope of IR35 and is paying £ per day.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and execute migration strategy from IBM WebSphere Application Server to Red Hat
* Build automation to migrate applications, configurations, and dependencies
* Develop reusable tooling and scripts to enable repeatable migration patterns
* Work with messaging integrations including IBM MQ
* Automate build, deployment, and configuration processes
* Analyse existing WAS environments and map to Red Hat equivalents
* Identify migration risks, compatibility issues, and remediation approaches
* Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and DevOps teams
Key Skills
1. Strong experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
2. Experience migrating to Red Hat Middleware (JBoss EAP, OpenShift, or similar)
3. IBM MQ configuration and migration experience
4. Strong automation and Scripting skills:
* Python/Bash/Shell Scripting
* Perl (desirable but useful for Legacy tooling)
