As an organisation, there is little we dont do and plenty to get involved in. Our Group Support roles are vital in making sure we can help over 11,000 people deliver essential infrastructure seamlessly across water, energy, transport and telecom.

What will you be doing?
As the L&D Manager youll be responsible for leading a small team of L&D Specialists to deliver the L&D offering. Combining day-to-day operational delivery with project management of strategic L&D initiatives, youll drive capability development across the business through high-quality, evidence-based learning interventions and strong stakeholder partnerships.
Youll lead a high-performing L&D team, managing the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of leadership, graduate, and apprentice development programmes. Youll oversee virtual learning content, curate the MConnect Learning Together Hub, and drive engagement across the Group.
With a focus on quality, youll implement evaluation frameworks, analyse learning data, and report on impact. Youll manage external suppliers, budgets, and logistics, while building strong stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment with business goals.
Youll also project manage key initiatives, coach your team, and promote a collaborative, learner-focused culture that supports capability building and drives performance.
What youll bring:
Essential Proven experience leading and developing a team in a group-based, centre-of-excellence L&D function.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple workstreams to deliver timely results whilst driving a continuous improvement approach.
Strong project management skills with experience of delivering multi-stakeholder initiatives on time and within budget.
Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
Demonstrable track record of managing the design and delivery of leadership, graduate and apprentice development programmes.
Confident in managing and developing virtual learning programmes and digital learning platforms.
Data-driven approach to evaluation and continuous improvement.
Desirable Qualification in learning/HR (CIPD or equivalent) and/or project management (Prince2/PMI/Agile).
Proven track record of developing and delivering L&D materials and sessions.
Experience or accreditation in Insights Discovery
Knowledge of funding opportunities
Other This role will require some travel across the UK.
