The job itself
Young gentleman in his early 30's requires support workers to support him with social activities and general everyday needs. The gentleman lives in Kirkella in his own home and requires full time support. The young man has severe learning disabilities, autism and OCD.
Activities he enjoys - swimming, and walking in the countryside and by the sea. Also loves kayaking and paddle boarding, ice skating, climbing, bouncing, swings and picking up litter. He enjoys watching Disney films and YouTube clips. Due to his love of a number of activities he requires a lot of people to help him do these.
The gentleman requires help with personal care, taking medications, making meals, getting a bath, and getting dressed. The gentleman has a car and would prefer that someone to drive this, (it’s an automatic) but it’s not essential.
Gentleman communicates with pictures and symbols and likes his days to be structured with routine he can understand. The role requires a patient person, who can adapt to the sometimes demanding needs of the client.
When out and about, he has 2 support workers with him. The ideal candidate should therefore be a good communicator and able to work well as part of a team
Current hourly rate is £13.75 day rate and £13.00 night rate (waking night).
There are part or full time hours available.
Sometimes you may be asked to do a waking night shift (10pm-8am).
Ample training will be provided and senior staff will be available who can help you learn and develop your skills and knowledge.
5.6 weeks annual holiday pay, a pension and statutory sick pay.
This role may not commence until 1/9/25 once all staff are in place and trained accordingly.
