As such, we are currently recruiting a Management Accountant to provide comprehensive day to day support to the Finance Business Partnering team, whilst ensuring we maintain a positive working culture and good work-life balance.
The Role:
As Management Accountant, you will have an excellent opportunity to use your strong technical skills and knowledge in accounts preparation, budget management and current accounting regulation, to take responsibility for production of monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and assist in the preparation and presentation of financial reporting packs for school Board and other required forums.
Your extensive skills and knowledge of management accounts preparation and journal preparation/processing will serve you well as you prepare monthly journal entries, including accruals and prepayments, year-end journals, and in particular monthly and annual accounts for the Edinburgh Napier University Development Trust, ensuring compliance with SORP.
We anticipate that you will have a strong systematic approach to completing tasks and high attention to detail, which will allow you to manage fulfilment of these and the wider teams commitments, while working under pressure to set deadlines.
Your independent, proactive and collaborative way of working will also play a big part of your success in this role, as you promote and build effective co-operation and relationships with Schools/Departments and external partners, providing advice and support where required.
Furthermore, as you get to know our process and procedures, we will welcome your input as an experienced finance professional, working with the Finance Business Partners and Head of Financial Reporting & Projects on the development of the finance function, so that we can continuously improve our processes to achieve maximum efficiency and professionalism.

What we will need from you:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent extensive finance experience
- Part Qualified status (with evidence of actively studying and near completion)
- Experience in a financial support team
- Strong technical skills in relation to accounts preparation, budget management and current accounting regulation using accounting systems and software.
- Ability to demonstrate a strong detailed knowledge and understanding of management accounts preparation and journal preparation/processing.

Additional information:
Salary: £37,174 - £45,413 per annum (depending on experience)
