We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Head of Lending.
Reporting to the Head of Portfolio and Specialist Coverage Teams, SME Business Banking, you’ll help us to maintain and grow profitable long-term relationships with clients. You’ll achieve this through providing relationship support to senior staff for key clients, growing revenues across an allocated portfolio, successfully managing and serving existing business relationships, and originating new revenue streams.
You’ll also cultivate collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders tofoster a strong risk-aware culture and be responsible for a showcasing a proactive approach to performance improvement and growth.

In this role you’ll:
* Lead and manage a dedicated team to support and deliver client performance against plan
* Maintain strong relationships and access at key decision maker level for assigned clients
* Co-ordinate the origination and execution of activities across the spectrum of our products and services
* Combine client relationship management with strong risk assessment and management capabilities, ensuring the required credit quality and requisite returns on risk
* Work in conjunction with senior management to assist in the management, development, and assessment of the wider team
* Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business
* Grow revenues across an allocated portfolio, successfully managing and serving existing business relationships and originating new revenue streams
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
* In-depth knowledge and experience of credit, lending, and risk
* Extensive knowledge of the UK market, together with an understanding of the interplay between geopolitics and commercial outcomes, and able to connect with a range of stakeholders (i.e. customers, regulators, and employees)
* Experience in driving team and individual performance to achieve customer and financial targets
* Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, with a particular emphasis on inspiring, influencing, and negotiating when dealing with clients and colleagues
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, meet role demands and make prompt and practical business decisions, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
* Ability to understand a customers’ business and priorities and interact with business customers at all levels
