Provide independent opinions on underwriting policy and reinsurance arrangements to the Board Risk Committee. Review and enhance reserving methodologies, presenting recommendations to senior committees. Lead the delivery of second line assurance on financial risk, sharing insights and recommendations with key stakeholders. Support the Executive team as a member of the Group Financial Risk and Reserving. Drive short-term projects and strategic initiatives to achieve business objectives. Lead, motivate, and develop a skilled actuarial team, fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and excellence. Ensure all actuarial work meets professional standards and regulatory requirements. About youWe’re seeking a dynamic and credible actuarial leader who brings: Technical expertise: Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FFA or FIA) and a current Chief Actuary Practising Certificate (or the skills and experience to obtain one). Substantial experience in General Insurance, with a strong track record in underwriting, pricing, and reserving. Deep understanding of UK regulatory requirements, Solvency II, and actuarial modelling techniques. Proven ability to analyse complex data, assess risk, and deliver robust financial reporting. Leadership and personal qualities: Experience influencing at Board level and engaging confidently with senior stakeholders and regulators. Demonstrable success in leading and developing teams to achieve strategic goals. Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences.
