Marketing Coordinator – University of Essex Students' Union
As Marketing Coordinator, you’ll be the driving force behind our on‑campus marketing. You’ll make sure our spaces feel vibrant, our campaigns stand out, and our members know exactly how to make the most of their SU experience.
You’ll design creative materials using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, coordinate print and digital assets across campus, and deliver imaginative marketing activations that bring our brand to life.
Working closely with the Marketing Director and Senior Digital & Data Marketing Manager, you’ll coordinate campus and online marketing, and line manage student Creative Assistants.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver and evaluate on‑campus marketing that promotes SU events, venues and services.
* Design creative materials and artwork using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Canva.
* Brief external designers on campaign creative.
* Oversee campus branding, signage and display materials to keep the SU looking fresh, consistent and on‑brand.
* Write engaging, student‑focused copy for posters, screens, leaflets and campaigns.
* Coordinate printing, production and distribution of marketing materials.
* Collaborate with the Senior Digital & Data Marketing Manager to align campus and digital marketing activity.
* Collaborate with SU teams, elected officers and University partners to understand their goals and create marketing that delivers.
* Support SU‑wide projects such as Welcome, Elections and other key campaigns.
* Use student feedback and engagement data to shape future campaigns and make improvements.
* Track and report on the performance of on‑campus campaigns and activations.
* Line manage and mentor the Creative Assistant, supporting their development and ensuring they produce quality, on‑brand work.
* Contribute to the wider marketing team’s creativity, planning and culture.

* Skilled in visual communication with a good eye for layout, typography and design consistency.
* Confident using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva to design professional and engaging materials.
* Strong communicator, both written and verbal, able to adapt tone and approach for different audiences.
* Organised and detail‑oriented, managing multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders with ease.
* Comfortable using feedback, insight and data to guide creative decisions and measure impact.
* Positive, proactive and solutions‑focused, able to stay calm and creative under pressure.
Salary & Contract
£26,338 per annum.
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Fixed Term Contract (1 Year – Maternity Cover).
