Penspen – Contract Manager - Europe (London/Aberdeen/Newcastle; Onsite/Hybrid)
Location: Onsite/Hybrid - Aberdeen; Newcastle; London
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience and skills

Responsibilities
* Commercial Management – advise on the commercial and legal risks across a range of matters from project tenders to creation of operating entities in new territories.
* Contract Governance – provide direction on the execution of projects to ensure they are in accordance with contractual terms and Penspen’s objectives, processes and financial viability.
* Regulatory Compliance – monitor compliance with statutory obligations and advise management accordingly, including sanctions considerations.
* Entity Management – ensure compliance with and manage formation, dissolution or changes in entity structures at country level.
* Compliance – work with internal stakeholders to develop and refine policies and procedures for regulatory requirements (data privacy, competition law, anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, sanctions, human rights, etc.).
* Capability Building – implement training programs to embed compliance standards across the business.
* Contract Review – negotiate contracts to allocate risk appropriately and support business activities in the required regions.
* Proposal Input – develop innovative legal and commercial solutions in bids and contracts; liaise with Finance and parent company for sureties where applicable.
* Policies and Procedures – ensure legal and commercial matters are reflected in business initiatives, engaging outside counsel as necessary.
* Enterprise Risk Management – contribute to the Regional Risk Register and ensure a commercial, regulatory and ethical balance; escalate key risk matters.
* Due Diligence – perform due diligence for suppliers, clients and third parties and identify risks early.
* Dispute Resolution – manage client, supplier and other disputes; coordinate with external lawyers when required.
* Stakeholder Management – build strong relationships with leadership, clients, partners and staff to support decision-making and negotiations.
* Insurance – ensure contractual insurance requirements are fulfilled and assist with renewals.
Qualifications
* A graduate University Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Contract Law).
* At least 6+ years of experience in contract management/administration, preferably in Engineering, Oil & Gas.
Knowledge / Experience (Skills)
* Risk awareness, quality and cost consciousness, negotiation, analytical skills, proactive approach, ability to work under pressure.
* Knowledge of technical and commercial disciplines related to oil and gas development projects; exposure to an EPC environment.
* Knowledge of legal and contractual laws governing projects.
* Strong knowledge of contract law, contract management, project financials, risk management, insurances and bonds (pre- and post-award).
* Strategy formulation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to advise on contracts and other legal documents; capable of coordinating and analyzing complex information.
* Experience in international markets (UK & Europe preferred).
* Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, partners, subcontractors and company staff.
* Ability to present topics clearly and confidently.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
