The job itself
Bridlington School are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our dynamic science department. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of high-quality science education in a thriving and forward-thinking school.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
2. Assist teaching staff during practical sessions and ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
3. Maintain and clean laboratory equipment and ensure safe storage of chemicals and resources.
4. Support the development of engaging practical activities and demonstrations.
5. Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed.
6. Ensure compliance with COSHH and other relevant safety regulations.
Person Specification:
7. A science-related qualification (e.g. GCSEs, A-levels, or higher) desirable but not essential.
8. Previous experience in a laboratory or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
9. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting learning.
