Overview
Primary Care Mental Health Support Worker – Fixed term / secondment for 10 months. This role involves working within the Primary Care Mental Health Service in Inverness as part of a multi-disciplinary community-based team in partnership with GP practices, Primary Care, 3rd sector and CMHT colleagues. The post supports delivery of psychological therapy programs for individuals with mild to moderate mental health problems using a strength-based, recovery-focused approach with patients as partners in their care planning. Duties include individual sessions and collaborative group work in GP surgeries and other community environments. Some input may be on a virtual basis using digital platforms (e.g. Near Me).
Responsibilities
* Provide individual sessions and participate in collaborative group work within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Deliver psychological therapy programs for patients with mild to moderate mental health problems using a strength-based, recovery-focused approach.
* Work in local GP surgeries and, on occasion, in other community environments; contribute sessional input to GP practices within the cluster areas.
* Engage with digital platforms for remote or virtual contact where appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills
* Person-centred approach with motivation to improve outcomes for others; strong interpersonal skills and ease with interaction.
* Self-motivated, enthusiastic, innovative and responsible for ongoing professional development; commitment to service development.
* Prior experience in a mental health setting is advantageous; supervision and continuous professional development opportunities are provided.

* Driving licence and access to a car are essential.
