The Visual Impairment (VI) team, part of WISENDSS, provides support to children with vision impairments and multi-sensory impairments from birth to 25 across Wakefield. Our settings include family homes, early years, mainstream and special schools, as well as our VI Resource provision.
This is a 35-hour post.
Senior Specialist Learning Support Officers collaborate with specialist teachers, settings, families, and professionals to support children individually or in small groups. Responsibilities include planning and delivering interventions, modelling inclusive practices, training staff, and contributing to assessment and review.
We seek a motivated individual with substantial experience working with children with vision or multi-sensory impairments. Experience with children with profound and complex needs is advantageous. Candidates should have good IT skills and be willing to develop expertise in specialist assistive technology.
