YumTea is an independent matcha & cake shop with a simple and elegant patisserie offering with Asian flavour flair. It will be a 7-day a week cafe with a focus on fresh baked asian-style breads and afternoon tea style patisserie, cakes and cookies.

We are looking for a passionate pastry chef who is an all-rounder and will energise the kitchen. Our ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of kitchen experience and is confident to run a section. We want to hire someone that is enthusiastic about provenance, seasonality and ingredients and has a detailed understanding of kitchen processes (including health and safety). It is also important that our candidate can excel in both creativity and production, and holds themselves to very high standards.
We believe in a strong work/life balance - the shifts & salary will be:
5 days per week (2 consecutive days off)
40 hours per week (rota is tbc but likely 7AM start)
Salary expectation £28k-£34k range depending on hours
We have three locations across London (Canary Wharf, Holborn, Woolwich), you are expected to be based at Canary Wharf but would be requested to work at other locations when necessary.
As the Pastry Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for:Running the pastry production including:
Breads
Baking
Shaping
Mixing Doughs etc
Patisserie
Cheesecake
Roll cakes
Creams
Cakes
Cookies
Biscuits
Decorating and finishing
Production Admin
Stock management
Ordering
H&S sheets
Updating production docs
Cleaning and maintenance of section
Supporting general manager on pastry rota
Recruitment Process Around 2 hours trial shift is required in our kitchen with a current member of the team
Once trial result is as expected, a follow up meeting will be arranged with management staff
