Accounts Assistant – £30,000 to £35,000
Office-Based | Full Time Laindon Ideal for AAT Level 3 / AAT Level 4 (or studying towards)
Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant looking to take the next step in your finance career? Do you have strong exposure to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
Our client is seeking a motivated, detail-driven Accounts Assistant to join their growing finance team. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is looking to develop their skills while working towards their AAT qualification.
Key Responsibilities
* Processing high-volume AP invoices, matching, batching and coding
* Managing AR duties, including raising customer invoices and allocating payments
* Chasing outstanding payments and supporting credit control activities
* Performing bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
* Assisting with month-end duties, journals, and balance sheet reconciliations
* Preparing customer statements and dealing with supplier/customer queries
* Supporting audits and contributing to continuous process improvements
* Maintaining and updating accounting systems and spreadsheets
About You
* Experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Credit Control
* Strong communication skills, confident handling internal and external queries
* Excellent attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
* Competent in Microsoft Excel and finance systems
* AAT Level 3 or currently studying Level 4 (or similar) – highly desirable
* Organised, reliable and able to work well under pressure
* A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
