My client based in Atherton are looking for a Service & Commissioing Engineer to support client across the North West & Yorkshire area. Job Description - Commissioing Engineer The ideal candiate is a senior commissioning engineer who is a multi-skilled person and carries out the full commissioning process on newly installed BMS panels, integration and loose controls to a complete and operational system. They produce precise reports and ‘work to go’ lists to log the commissioning process. They liaise with all trades in order to progress the BMS and its commissioning. They can offer advice & instruction on the installation of BMS systems and offer technical advice on BMS and 3rd party systems. Once the commissioning is complete, they carry out site training, demonstration and witnessing to the customers and clients satisfaction. The ultimate thought process for a senior commissioning engineer when commissioning a new panel/system is that everything they come across is going to be wrong and that they are going to put it right! Overview - Commissioing Engineer A senior commissioning engineer is an important senior team player within the business and this is a responsible self-motivated role with additional back-up from other commissioning and office staff. A senior commissioning engineer is someone who can quickly react to any situation and provide solutions to most events. A senior commissioning engineer works on a wide range of systems and is often the ‘go to’ person for advice on all things controls. A senior commissioning engineer has an in-depth knowledge of both conventional and DDC type controls. A senior commissioning engineer can offer solutions to other members of staff, customers & clients and will often find themselves in a supervisor situation. A senior engineer provides training to the junior members of staff, thus helping them with their development. Responsibilites - Commissioing Engineer The purpose of this position is to carry out the commissioning of BMS systems and their associated controls, including front end supervisors and integration, which will include but not be limited to the following responsibilities. * Carrying out commissioning of BMS systems. * The production of detailed reports including commissioning reports, test results and as fitted drawings. * The integration of 3rd party systems into the BMS uisng MODbus, Mbus or BACnet enabled devices. * Keeping the project manager, service co-ordinator or director up to date on their movements and location. * Keeping the project manager up to date on their progress and the status of the commissioning. * Passing information and instruction onto other engineers in order to maintain a site presence. * Returning all documentation, test results and final paperwork to the office /PM. * The interaction and communication with customers, clients and other members of staff. * The instruction and supervision of additional trades or fellow personnel. * The production or back engineering of software strategy * The installation, modification and demonstration of supervisor graphics. * Advising the customer on potential benefits and savings from adapting the system. * Quoting for the replacement of faulty parts or items. * Carrying out energy audits. * Provide controls & energy solutions and ideas. * Assisting in the development of controls solutions and applications * Assist in the training of junior engineers and other staff. Attributes - Commissioing Engineer A senior service engineer has the following attributes * Self-motivating * Can work alone un-supervised in most situations. * Can produce precise reports * Can see the bigger picture and think ‘outside the box’ * An in-depth knowledge of both BEMS and conventional controls. * Good communication skills * A logical approach. * Good fault-finding skills * Can read schematic drawings * Can identify applications * Can highlight potential cost saving measures * Can carry out surveys on existing systems Attendances - Commissioing Engineer A senior commissioning engineer is a field-based staff position working within the standard business hours of 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Within the NW and Yorkshire regions engineers are expected to be on site at 8am and work a minimum of 7.5hrs on site with a mandatory 30min lunch break which is not included in the 7.5 hrs. Within the NW and Yorkshire regions engineers are expected to travel to site in their own time taking into account traffic conditions so that they are on site for 8am. Site attendance, arrival and travel times will be adjusted for sites that fall outside the NW region to allow for the additional travel time required. Overtime is applicable in extraordinary circumstances such as when a job needs to be completed in a specific time period or working overtime would prevent an additional site visit. Overtime rates would be paid for any such hours worked outside the standard 37.5 hours per week with prior approval from the office. Travel time is applicable for long journeys which are carried out in addition to the normal working hours. Overnight stays are applicable on sites which have a travel time greater than 3 hours. Overnight accommodation, expenses and allowances are all provided
