Our Client, A Large Public Organisation based in Coleraine require a Grounds Maintenance General Operative to join their team. Location : Coleraine Hours of work : 37 hrs per week - Monday to Friday Hourly Rate : 1 - 12 weeks £13.10 13 weeks £13.69 Main Duties : Undertake horticulture, gardening and general grounds maintenance works in Council facilities, public parks, sports grounds and similar open spaces, to the standards required. To present a courteous attitude at all times by assisting with the promotion of good working relationships between Council staff and members of the public. If and as required, deal with on-site complaints and queries or refer to your line manager as necessary. Ensure that the department complies with all statutory and legislative requirements by adhering to these requirements and working in accordance with good governance and health and safety requirements. Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council. Full Job Description available on request. Essential Criteria : An NVQ Level 2 in Amenity Horticulture or equivalent qualification. OR A minimum of 12 months' experience gained within a commercial environment to include the following: Grass cutting, horticultural and grounds maintenance including the set-up, safe use and routine maintenance of a range of horticultural equipment / machinery to include ride on grounds machinery. General maintenance of outdoor areas eg parks. Cemetery duties. PLUS Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and its application in the workplace to include working with a variety of plant and equipment.
