The Buyer works closely with the Purchasing Manager to ensure the highest quality CNC machined components, raw materials and soft parts are procured both on time and at the right price. This would involve working with brands, which has been established since 1977 Description of Position: Buyer role Responsibilities Procurement of components, materials or soft parts in a timely fashion to meet required deadlines. Monitoring of the internal requisition system Ability to forecast product demand based on historic data. Initiation of enquiry process for purchasing supplies. Ability to negotiate costs to suit agreed budgets Ability to negotiate tight delivery dates in accordance with customer requirements Able to negotiate and bring delivery dates forward when needed. Prepare and process purchase orders. Working with the internal quality team as well as the supplier to resolve any issues relating to either rejects or quality concerns. Ensuring Health & Safety and Environmental standards are complied with. This list is not exhaustive Requirements and Qualifications A good understanding of CNC machining (Turning & Milling) through multi- axis is advantageous. Experience of raw materials (Stainless, Carbon, Duplex) is desirable however not mandatory as full training will be provided. Proven track record of controlling and reducing external spend whilst developing a robust supplier base. Ability to modernise the existing process and suggest potential improvements to improve efficiency. Fully conversant with modern procurement and purchasing techniques. High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook as a minimum) Full Driving License required. Role Structure The Buyer role is a critical role within Alco Valves Group.
