Duration: 6 month initial contract

Role details:
Our client, a leading provider in defence and security technology, is currently seeking a Configuration and Data Management Engineer (CDME) to join their team on a contract basis. This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel required near Reading. The successful candidate will work within the TTS Mission Area, supporting a training programme with the Royal Navy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensuring that all required contract data is properly identified, scheduled, marked, approved, inspected, submitted, and accepted.
2. Administering the project's Configuration Change Control Board (CCCB).
3. Supporting ongoing data management processes, including CMMI, IPDP, and DM internal audit gate review activities.
4. Applying and administering configuration planning.
5. Ensuring configuration identification, change management, verification, and audits in compliance with standards.
6. Managing digital files and work products, including those imported from the Authority and suppliers.
7. Championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement.
8. Ensuring that all programme-related information is effectively stored and controlled at the contract's close-out.
9. Any other duties required to meet the needs of the programme.
Job Requirements:
10. Experience with configuration and data management systems, such as Windchill.
11. Understanding of records management.
12. Knowledge of CMDM processes and artefacts.
13. General awareness of the five configuration management pillars.
14. Understanding the importance of handling data and documents according to the Government Security Classification Policy (GSCP).
15. Experience with SharePoint and/or Kahootz.

You should have a solid understanding of configuration and data management principles ideally within the defence sector. You are detail-oriented, methodical, and capable of working independently while also contributing to a broader team effort. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring that documentation and data control processes meet rigorous standards.
