Step Forward Fostering is an innovative programme supporting young people who’ve experienced trauma, loss, and instability, helping them move from residential care into a nurturing home environment. These young people don’t just need a roof over their head — they need someone like you: someone who understands structure, consistency, and the power of positive role models. As a Step Forward Foster Carer, you’ll be supported every step of the way by a team of professionals. You’ll never be alone on this journey. What You’ll Receive: We recognise that caring for a young person with complex needs requires emotional and practical support — and we’ll make sure you have it. Specialist Support: A dedicated Senior Practitioner providing regular guidance and supervision A Family Wellbeing Worker to support both you and the young person A Hub Carer offering up to 28 days of planned short breaks per year 24/7 Out-of-Hours Support A network of Step Forward Carers for peer support Ongoing training in trauma-informed care and understanding neurodiversity Therapeutic and psychological support tailored to your journey Financial Package: We want you to focus on care, not costs. That’s why we offer a generous financial package: £1,052 per week while a child is placed with you (around £54,704 per year) £408 per week retainer between placements (up to £21,216 per year) Additional allowances for birthdays, holidays, and cultural needs Tax exemptions designed specifically for foster carers Is This You?
