Electrical Estimator – Cambridge
Location: Cambridge
Salary: Circa £65,000 – £75,000 + Car Allowance
A market‑leading Tier 1 M&E contractor is looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to support its growing pipeline of commercial and infrastructure projects across the region.
Role Overview
In this pre‑construction role you will prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of electrical packages, working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure commercially viable and technically compliant tenders are submitted.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed electrical estimates and tender submissions
* Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
* Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
* Identify value engineering opportunities and commercial risks
* Liaise with clients, consultants and internal delivery teams
* Support bid presentations and tender negotiations
* Maintain accurate cost databases and estimating records
Requirements
* Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within the M&E / Building Services sector
* Strong understanding of electrical systems and construction processes
* Experience pricing large‑scale commercial, industrial or infrastructure projects
* Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
* Ability to work to deadlines within a fast‑paced environment
* Relevant industry qualifications preferred
