We're looking for a Design Manager to join our Fire Remediation team based in Isle of Dogs.
Location: Isle of Dogs, London
Hours: 40 hours per week

Kier Places is our building, estate and property management business which delivers end‑to‑end solutions for places where people live and work. As part of our Kier Places team, we are recruiting for a Design Manager on our Fire Remediation project. The project consists of external wall remediation works to numerous blocks in the Isle of Dogs, forming part of our 15-year contract with L&Q for the Major Works Improvement Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team working on meaningful projects that make a real difference to communities.
What will you be responsible for?
* Managing the design process from RIBA stage 1, including design programmes, scopes, and responsibility matrices
* Coordinating and chairing design meetings with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders
* Reviewing designs for technical compliance, health and safety legislation, and sustainability standards
* Supporting the production of the scope of works and works packages whilst maintaining comprehensive project documentation
* Building strong relationships with clients, acting as the key point of contact for design, commercial, and programme matters
What are we looking for?
* You hold an HNC/HND/Degree in construction or engineering, with membership of a relevant professional body (CIOB, APM, CIAT, RICS)
* You have proven pre‑construction experience on projects up to £20m, with a strong track record of leading multidisciplinary design teams
* You possess excellent communication skills and thrive when collaborating with diverse teams, clients, and stakeholders
* You demonstrate strong time management abilities and work effectively under pressure whilst maintaining quality and attention to detail
* You hold a Full driving licence and CSCS card
