Role Overview
As a Security Officer, you will: Ensure site safety and security to protect Defence personnel, visitors and property.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patrols and monitor designated areas on foot or by vehicle, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
- Control access by checking credentials, issuing passes and escorting visitors as required.
- Perform thorough searches of vehicles, baggage and personnel.
- Respond to incidents by identifying risks, managing breaches and escalating where necessary.
- Assist employees and visitors, providing professional and courteous support on‑site.
- Operate CCTV, alarms and communication devices and manage traffic and parking.
- Maintain security logs and complete detailed incident reports.
Shift Pattern & Flexibility
48 hours per week including breaks. Night, weekend and bank holiday shifts. Twelve‑hour shifts that are rostered between Sunday and Saturday with flexible weeks. Roster details will be explained in full during interview.
Training & Development
- Mandatory two‑week residential Foundation Course, including Emergency First Aid.
