As Project Engineer at Blackwell Earthmoving Limited, a branch of Hargreaves Services Plc, you will play a pivotal role in delivering complex engineering projects, providing technical authority and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
What you’ll be doing
* Taking full ownership for achieving project objectives across safety, quality, programme, and commercial performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards.
* Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact to resolve issues, negotiate solutions, and foster collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
* Coordinating closely with commercial, planning, and HSEQ teams, ensuring integrated project planning, accurate forecasting, and proactive risk management to deliver works on time and within budget.
* Providing leadership and direction to the project team, setting clear expectations, driving high performance, and embedding a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Mentoring and developing team members to enhance capability and succession planning.
* Monitoring and reporting on project progress, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership, producing accurate and timely reports, and implementing corrective actions where necessary to safeguard delivery targets.
What We’re Looking For
* Extensive experience in earthworks or civil engineering, with a strong track record of delivering complex projects to high standards of quality and safety.
* Solid academic foundation, complemented by advanced technical knowledge and practical application in engineering principles.
* In-depth expertise across the core disciplines of Civil Engineering, ensuring the ability to lead and make informed decisions on technical matters.
* Chartered or actively working towards Chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), demonstrating a clear commitment to professional development and leadership within the industry.
