Our Client, Bury Council, is seeking an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join their Team.

Responsibilities of this role:
* Responding to urgent child protection referrals, including allegations of abuse or neglect, and taking immediate action to ensure safety.
* Working alongside the police to manage situations involving Police Powers of Protection (PPOPs).
* Finding and arranging safe, temporary accommodation or foster care for children who need to be removed from their homes in an emergency.
* Conducting urgent assessments of child welfare, risk, and safety in crisis situations.
* Providing telephone advice and guidance to families, children, and foster carers in crisis, including managing challenging behaviour.
* Working with partner agencies, such as the police, hospitals, and housing services, to address urgent needs.
* Taking reports, making inquiries, and conducting return interviews for children reported missing from home or care.
* Maintaining accurate, urgent records of interventions and ensuring cases are properly handed over to daytime social work teams. .
Requirements of this role:
* Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
* Must have a Social Work qualification (Diploma in social work, social work degree or equivalent)
* Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience as a Social Worker
