The Avenue Nursing Home is looking for a Wellbeing Coordinator with creative flare and out-of-the box thinking to organise, run events and activities. From pumpkin-carving, to gardening, crafts and more - no two days will ever be the same as you support our residents to try new things and ensure they feel connected with their local community.
With support from our care team, and your natural warmth and empathy, you will deliver quality wellbeing support plans that ensures everyone is treated with dignity and that individual's rights to privacy, independence and choice are met.
Role summary:
Undertake fundraising activity for the Residents' Fund.
Meet targets set out to improve our resident's lives which includes getting to know every resident through our 'Resident of the Day' programme.
Work together with other local community groups and the wider local area to plan outings for residents, take part in local community events and get out and about
Organise varied activities within the Home to cater for a variety of interests and life stories for individuals, small groups and large numbers of residents, including entertainment and outings….the ideas are endless.
Create a timetable of events and interesting pastimes providing a structure for our residents whilst enduring there is something for all
Duties
To plan on going weekly activity rotas in conjunction with the resident's wishes, and encourage residents to maintain pre-existing hobbies & participate with new ones.
To assess individual needs continuously, particularly with regard to possible rehabilitation and to participate in resident reviews as appropriate.
To assist the Home Manager in planning the homes special events such as summer fetes, coffee mornings, etc.
Plan daily/weekly and monthly programmes
Ensure the Home has a selection of appropriate activity materials available at all time ready for planned programmes
About you
Ideally we would like someone with experience of at least a year in activities.
Be passionate about the elderly and finding new and exciting ideas for the residents to participate in.
To have good speaking and written English.
Bubbly and vibrant.
To be organised and work well in a team.
