Seeking a consultant radiation oncologist for a full time, permanent role with a regional oncology services serving the southern region of New Zealand's North Island. Position Highlights Permanent employment contract to join a team of Radiation Oncologists with a variety of specialist interests in all adult malignancies. Scope of work is general Radiation Oncology, although there are opportunities to develop an area of subspecialty cancer interest. well equipped modern department with a wide-bore CT-simulator, 4 Varian Truebeam linear accelerators each with a six degrees of freedom couch, and a new orthovoltage unit. department uses the RayStation treatment planning system and the MOSAIQ patient management system. there are well established and accredited IMRT, VMAT, DIBH and IGRT and SBRT programs. the department is developing satellite radiation treatment units in our region which will be operational in the next few years a strong culture of multidisciplinary meetings and an active clinical trials portfolio. some travel may be required to satellite clinics Professional Requirements FRANZCR or equivalent specialist qualification in Radiation Oncology Vocational registration or eligibility for vocational/provisional registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand Remuneration salary paid in accordance with ASMS scale, dependent upon experience level NZD 200000-350,000 PA 6 weeks annual leave Superannuation Study leave allowance of 10 days and NZD 16,000 expenses Comprehensive relocation package Reimbursement of medical licence costs Palmerston North An university city in the North Island, Palmerston North offers a relaxed pace of life in a small city with close access to Wellington, short commutes, affordable housing and plenty of good schools.
