Production Manager
£60,000 | Barton Under Needwood
(Initial period in Doncaster – expenses covered)
A £40m investment. A manufacturing site still under construction. A rare opportunity to build from day one.
This is a unique chance to join a major industrial organisation as it delivers one of the most significant UK manufacturing investments in recent years creating a brand-new production facility in East Staffordshire, currently under construction and designed for long-term growth.
As part of a large-scale relocation and expansion programme, multiple product lines are transitioning into a newly built, state-of-the-art site, featuring brand-new workshops, equipment, and infrastructure.
During the initial 3–6 months, the role will be based in Doncaster as part of the wider transition programme, before moving permanently to East Staffordshire once the new facility is fully live.
All travel and overnight accommodation will be fully expensed.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring production performance remains strong throughout the transition, while helping establish the foundations of a high-performing new site.
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to a newly forming operation.
You will:
Build, lead, and develop a new production team.
Embed performance culture with clear KPIs and accountability.
Lead production within a brand-new workshop environment.
Positively challenge teams and raise standards through strong leadership.
Support the integration of multiple product lines into the new site.
Help shape an operation with ambitions to become a major UK and European rail hub.
What matters is strong production leadership, credibility on the shop floor, and the ability to gather people together and make things happen.
Candidates should be operating at Level 5 Production Manager standard to ensure alignment across leadership when it comes to KPIs, performance and operational language.
If you’re a driven, resilient Production Manager who thrives in fast-paced, build-and-grow environments, this is an opportunity to leave a genuine legacy.
