We're looking for a proactive and organised Transport Planner to join our friendly team. You'll play an important role in helping us deliver excellent service to our customers while ensuring our transport activities remain safe, compliant, and efficient.
About The Role
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time
Hours of Work: 40 Hours per week
As a Transport Planner, you'll support the day‑to‑day coordination of our vehicle fleet, working closely with the Transport Manager, drivers, and wider teams. You'll help plan routes, monitor compliance, maintain accurate transport records, and support the smooth running of all Bridgmans and MVF vehicle operations. This role suits someone who's practical, supportive, calm under pressure, and enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities Include
• Assisting with route planning and daily transport coordination
• Ensuring drivers comply with Drivers' Hours Regulations, WTD, tachograph rules and company policies
• Supporting vehicle maintenance schedules and defect reporting processes
• Maintaining accurate O‑licence and transport compliance records
• Monitoring vehicle performance, utilisation and fuel data
• Supporting investigations into accidents, delays and incidents
• Assisting with driver communication and creating strong working relationships
• Helping manage drivers' hours usage and pay information
• Using transport systems such as BMS, Paragon and FTA analysis tools
• Contributing to long‑term planning including fleet replacement and budgeting
About You
• Experience in a transport, logistics or planning role
• Strong IT skills and comfortable learning new systems
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Confident communicator who builds positive relationships
• Organised, adaptable and keen to support continuous improvement
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and relevant transport legislation
